National Fair Fuel Day: 7 March 2012

FairFuelUK (FFUK), whose partners include FTA, has declared that Wednesday 7 March is National Fair Fuel Day. This will take place at the Houses of Parliament in the run up to the Budget, which the Chancellor has announced will be on 21 March. The campaign is renewing its call for a significant cut in fuel duty to get the economy growing. We know from the reaction of ministers and MPs that the FFUK campaign has had a real impact on the Government and resulted in fuel duty being 10p a litre cheaper than it had planned.

Another increase in fuel duty is planned for August and as part of its campaign to reverse this, ahead of the Budget Statement, FFUK is hoping that as many members as possible will come to the House of Commons on 7 March to personally lobby their MP.
